The Data

Sometimes people invoke “the data” as a way to sidestep their own agency and accountability.

But there are situations where the data won’t say what’s right to do, and people have to take moral responsibility for their decisions.

It takes courageous leadership to put data in its proper place and context, or even act against it when its model of the world does not include what you determine to be right action.
