Ok, I’m going to say it. LinkedIn might be a massively multiplayer version of the classic Milgram experiment.
You’re taking part in study to see what the effect of punishment is on a subject’s ability to consume content.
The scientist is the algorithm. He wants to see just how far you will go. You think you’re the teacher but you’re actually the subject. You keep escalating and escalating to see what you can get out of the learner.

One more jolt. Then another.
Do you want to stop? Says the scientist:
“Please continue.
The experiment requires that you continue.
It is absolutely essential that you continue.
You have no other choice. You must go on.”
You comply.
“Whether the learner likes it or not, you must go on.”
The experiment will be halted after you, the teacher, apply the maximum 450-volt shock three times in succession.
